Thank you for your interest in joining the Stage Door School of Dance family!
Our teachers at Stage Door School of Dance are an enthusiastic, collaborative team dedicated to creating the ultimate dance experience. Joining us means more than being an employee – you become an integral part of our Dance Family. Let’s collaborate to improve, innovate, and support our community on their dance journey!
A day in the life:
As a Stage Door School of Dance teacher, you’ll do many things: help dancers grow in technique and artistry, communicate with dancers and families about progress, leading with positivity and encouragement, work with your coach on ways to strengthen your teaching practice, attend bi-monthly staff meetings and an annual full day workshop, attend classes with the professionals of your choice, choreograph for both classroom and end-of year performances, and wear several hats at our exciting dance recital (#bestshowever). At SDSD, we embrace a strong work ethic while also prioritizing work-life balance. We highly value our teachers living their best lives!
Are you someone who…
- Is a “people person” and comfortable with all aspects of the dance studio cycle, from teaching children, communicating with parents, working with a coach to continuously improve teaching practice, choreography, presenting to families during showcases and stepping up for just about anything needed for our recital?
- Is great at working in collaboration with others?
- Has experience as a dance teacher? (5 or more years preferred, but not required)
- Is patient, outgoing, and has an upbeat personality?
- Thrives on continuous growth, embracing both dance-related and personal development?
- Has effective, proactive classroom management skills and the willingness to grow within our culture?
- Shows up prepared and with a professional dance teacher aesthetic?
- Is organized, professional and can commit to at least a year of employment?
- Has experience in the following programs or the willingness to learn how to use: Slack, GarageBand, and Google Calendar
If you answered “yes” to the above questions, you may be the right person for us then Stage Door may be just the right job for you!
