Introducing Our Recital 2024 Theme - In My Dance Era

Hold onto your dancing shoes because “In My Dance Era,” our Stage Door School of Dance recital theme, is about to take you on an unforgettable journey! This isn’t just a celebration of dance; it’s a tribute to the vibrant dance era we’re all part of – an era where dance trends have connected dancers and dance lovers worldwide, creating a global stage for dance like never before.

June 8th and 9th at the Staller Center for the Arts mark the grand finale of our year of growth, discovery, art, and passion. With SIX performances showcasing the stunning choreography you’ve perfected over the dance season, each in a dazzling costume that tells its own story, we’re not just stepping out; we’re making a statement – that in this new dance era, every leap, turn, and tap brings us closer to one another, no matter where we are in the world.

“In My Dance Era” is more than a theme; it’s a celebration of this unique moment in dance history and a recognition of your personal journey in dance. Each one of you at Stage Door School of Dance is living your own dance era, and we are beyond honored to share, nurture, and celebrate it.

So, embrace your moment, dance your story, and let’s make “In My Dance Era” a recital that resonates with every dancer around the globe. This is our time – our dance era – and the stage is all of ours!

Please note: Recital trophies are based on the number of Stage Door School of Dance recitals your dancer has performed in.

Do I have to participate in the recital?

  • No. Dancers do not have to participate in our annual recital. However, we encourage all dancers to participate as it is a great, fun experience that assists in the learning process.

When does recital choreography begin to be taught in class?

  • Every year, classes begin learning their recital choreography in January upon returning to class following the winter-break.

Will my dancer appear in more than one recital performance?

  • Each class will appear in one performance over the 6 show weekend.  Although we do our best to accommodate dancers in multiple classes, and families with multiple children performing, we cannot guarantee that your dancer and / or family will appear in only one performance over the weekend. This also means, your family may be required to purchase tickets to multiple performances.

Does my family have to pay for the Recital Media Package if my dancer is not performing in the recital?

  • No. If your dancer is not appearing the recital, your family will not be charged for or receive the Recital Media Package, unless requested.  Class photos will be able to be purchased individually by those families not participating in the recital.

Will the recital be livestreamed as it’s happening?

  • No. The recital is not livestreamed the day of the performances. All families with dancers who participate in the recital will have access to the Recital Media Package that provides a digital link to all 6 recital performances. This package will be provided after recital weekend has ended and the recordings processed by the vendor.

Can I find out where in the show run order my dancer’s class will be performing?

  • Stage Door does not release the specific run order of each of our 6 performances until the day of the show. Families will be provided the performance show number (1-6), show date (June 8 or 9), and show start time (TBD).
