My years of dancing at Stage Door taught me so many important things, as well as brought me so many amazing memories and friends! One thing that really stands out that I learned from my teachers and years of dancing at Stage Door is the importance of hard work and dedication. Dance requires a lot of commitment, practice, time, team work and it pushes you to constantly grow as a dancer and person! These are valuable lessons that have helped me in so many different areas of my life!
My favorite thing about dance class is practicing for competition, seeing my Stage Door friends, and learning from my teachers.
Participating in weekly dance classes make me feel alive and energized. It’s a fun way to exercise and great for the memory as well as the body.
If I had to tell someone about why I love Stage Door, I would tell them about how grateful I feel to be able to walk into a class full of friends, who have turned into family, every day. The people at Stage Door make you feel accepted and loved every second you’re there. Everyone should get the chance to be able to experience our kind of family that we have at Stage Door School of Dance.
Dance has taught me to be myself unapologetically. Being in the environment that the studio has created has allowed me to feel safe and able to let my dancing be from my heart. It has taught me how to let go of my imperfections and just dance. Dance has also taught me to express everyday emotions, to stay in the moment and to stay positive. I will forever be grateful for what dance has offered me.
I love Stage Door because everyone is so kind there and stage door is my home. My teachers are very nice and I like how they are so helpful when I struggle. I also like how the company girls who help in my class are so sweet and helpful.
Something that dance has taught me is to believe in my self, no matter what. It has taught me that I should let go, be myself, and not hold myself back from doing what I love.
If I had to tell someone why I love Stage Door, I would tell them how loving and welcoming the students and the faculty are. I have always loved dance, but after I moved to this studio, I have learned to appreciate it even more!
Dancing makes me feel like all of the energy of the entire day is being focused on dance. There is just something about it that when it’s time to go to dance, I want to jump up and down with excitement! I feel safe at dance, and the teachers are so nice and encouraging. They make me want to never leave after class is over.
Dance has taught me when you can’t physically speak up you can use dance to express how you feel and use your body to speak for you.
I love Stage Door because it had a kind and loving community. Everyone goes there because we have a love for dance, and so we bond. I also love Stage Door because the teachers treat me as a growing artist and not just a child.
There are many things I love about dance class. One of them is my teachers current and previous. I also love meeting new friends in class and the way dancing makes me feel happy.
Dance makes me feel happy and alive!
Several years ago, when speaking with my adult daughter about wishing I had learned how to tap dance, I said “I am too old now!” The very next Mothers’ Day she gifted me with a pair of tap shoes and a note that said “You are NOT too old and it’s NEVER too late!” She had signed us both up for adult tap at Stage Door School of Dance. I truly enjoy challenging myself to do something both physical and mental but spending the time with my daughter is the best gift of all! And it actually makes me feel YOUNG!!!!
My favorite thing about dance class is during that hour I kind of escape a little from daily crazy life and I get to be “me”, instead of “wife”, “mom”, etc. And I have found long lasting friendships friendships in these classes!
Dance has taught me not to give up!
Dance has taught me that when you put your mind to it you can do anything if you work hard. I learned so many things from tap to hip hop and the teachers I have are amazing. Because of them I am the dancer I am today. I will never forget the new dances I learned, the friends I made, and the fun I have every week. I love stage door and my dance teachers!
Dance taught me how to express myself though emotion and movement.

My favorite thing about dance class is seeing friends and hanging out with Ms. Stephanie P. learning new dance moves. I especially love freeze dance, tap and all the new routines she teaches us. I get to hear cool new songs too.
I love everything about stage door school of dance. I love all of the things my teachers have taught me. I always look forward to learning new things and going to class. I love being challenged at dance and the sense of discipline it has given me. What I love most about stage door is all of my kind and talented teachers along with all my dance friends.
Dancing makes me feel happy because my teacher, Ms. Stephanie, is a lot of fun and she makes it so exciting for me.
Dancing taught me how to be free and let go of anything that’s on my mind. It has taught me discipline, skill sets, emotion, and many more. Most importantly it has showed me my passion for this amazing form of art. Growing up learning to dance was such an incredible thing. I would watch the older company girls and look up to them and I wanted to be just like them. It took a lot to convince my mom to letting me take multiple dance classes to meet the requirements to join company but with the passion and drive dancing taught me I finally got to be a part of it. Where I’m pursuing it in musical theater.
My favorite thing about dance is that all of teachers are so nice to me and I love singing and dancing I also love hanging out with the Stage Door crew! I love coming to dance every week because I always learn something new every day.
Dancing makes me feel free, strong ,and powerful.
I love Stage Door School of Dance because dancing there makes me feel like that’s all i ever want to do, dancing there feels like a family and I want to be there for as long as possible.
I really appreciate the confidence that I’m building each class, and learning to not be nervous or shy because we’re all learning together.
Dancing makes me feel so happy because I get to see my teacher and friends.
Dancing makes me feel so happy because I get to see my teacher and friends.
My favorite thing about dance class is that I get to share my dancing with other people.
I will never forget my daughter’s first dance recital. I cried at the opening act and didn’t stop until the end. It seemed like most recitals I’ve seen and even danced in as a child myself until the very end when it was trophy time. Instead of calling each dancer up and handing them a trophy and then the dancer sits down. I watched in awe as dancers ranging in age from 5-18 grabbed the mic and proceeded to show their family members and dance teachers their appreciation. The dancers were so poised, grateful, and so well spoken! It was right there that I knew I chose the best school of dance for my daughter. A school that not only teaches my daughter how to dance but one that shows the importance and value of family both in and outside the studio!!
I think a dance education is something EVERYONE should have access to at some point in their lives. Not only does it provide physical activity, it is an art form that gives people an outlet, allows an individual to express themselves through movement, teaches skills about understanding rhythm and musicality, and most importantly here at Stage Door; it provides a sense of community and family so that the dancer never feels apart or alone. A dance family is a forever family, and that is something I know the staff, company, and dancers all take great pride in.
We love Stage Door! Not only does my dancer feel like she has a dance family/team, she is growing as a dancer every single week. Stage Door also makes the families of the dancer feel like part of the SDSD family.
We know that enrolling yourself or your child into a dance class can be a bit overwhelming. We also know that if we deliver the right kind of support to you, then years from now you will look back on this moment and know it was the best decision your family ever made.
