Tara Schnepf

Tara Schnepf is a dedicated dance instructor and proud hockey / lacrosse mom. Born and raised in Medford, she began her dance journey at the age of 4 and studied various styles of dance at different schools on Long Island. At the age of 12, she opted to focus solely on ballet and pointe, where she went on to train with the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School. This dedication paved the way for a professional ballet career that started at the age of 18 with Ballet Long Island, performing principal roles in such productions as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Pas de Quatre, and The Nutcracker. She began her dance teaching journey as a ballet instructor for Long Island Ballet, working with their most advanced students. For the past 22 years, she has been an integral part of the Stage Door School of Dance dance family, where she continues to share her knowledge and passion for dance with our next generation of dancers. She is a very proud SDSD Elite Company teacher and has also introduced the joy of dance to young children and their parents through Stage Door’s Parent & Me and preschool dance programs. Outside of the dance studio, Tara is a loving wife and devoted mother to three very active teenage boys.
