Emily Martin has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop and pointe. Emily started her dancing career at Stagedoor school of dance and was apart of the elite competition team. Emily was also an actor at Gateways Playhouse, where she performed in Billy Elliot as Tracy Atkinson, Pinocchio as a marionette/ensemble, Wizard of Oz as ensemble, Little Mermaid as ensemble/dance captain, Lions King as ensemble, Frozen twice as ensemble/dance captain, as well as an actor for Gateways Haunted House for 5 years.
Emily has been teaching dance and performing arts across the island in various studios, schools, and performing art companies for the past 6 years. Currently Emily is attending St Joseph’s university where she is pursuing a bachelors in Child Study with a concentration in English and a Masters degree in Literacy and Cognition. Emily is a part of Scopes educational enrichment program where she continues to help the next generation of artist develop their talents in performing arts. Emily currently teaches both dance classes and the day camp program here at Stagedoor School of Dance. With a lifelong passion for dance and a commitment to education, Emily brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as a dance instructor.
